Jim Leftwich OBE

Born in North London, the 7th of 8 children. From an engineering base with Rolls Royce, Jim’s career involved working in many areas of the UK and the USA, before retiring as a CEO in 2000. As well as more than 30 years with young peoples’ work through clubs, he also goes into schools and prisons on relationship training and since 2000 has been making regular trips to Kenya on charity work for widows and orphans.

 

 

 

Rev Lady Denise Brown

Denise has been involved in supporting voluntary youth work in West Berkshire for the last fifteen years; first establishing a rural youth club in Beedon and then chairing the Downland Youth Network, which for ten years helped small communuities to set up their own youth activities and give their young people a voice, that work is now carried on by Berkshire Youth.

 

 

Shirley Cooke

Shirley is retired but with a background in Recruitment and Print Company Management.

A school governor for 13 years. Previously a Executive Board member of The Federation of Recruitment and Employment Services and Reading Chamber of Commerce (now Thames Valley)

Shirley also plays badminton regularly and runs a weekly swimming club.

 

Clive Williams

Clive is a retired solicitor, who has had long associations with youth work in the County, including running a youth club and chairing the Adventure Dolphin Charity in Pangbourne, in addition to acting as Company Secretary to Berkshire Youth.

 

 

 

 

 

Armelle Boisset

Armelle Boisset holds a degree in Engineering and has worked in the Telecoms industry for over 20 years.

She is honoured to have been selected as a trustee for Berkshire Youth and brings to the Board corporate governance experience and senior programme leadership skills.

Based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, she holds volunteer roles with local schools and clubs, and is a keen participant and supporter in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) outreach programmes to students.

A mother of two, Armelle strongly believes in the importance of developing young people through accessible programmes that fit in with their daily lives.
